Whenever brawls and fights broke out among these men, it was only natural for them to draw out the weapon they boastfully carried. WebThere was a lovely cartoon in German satirical magazine Simplicissimus, around the turn of the last century, showing a newlywed wife writing to her friend: "Dear Erna, never marry a fraternity man. I had to spend the entire night admiring his scars." So maybe it was more one of those "that's nice, dear" type of deals.
