A SharkBite disconnect tong goes onto the fitting and the tube and allows you to compress the ring, which pushes the gripping teeth out of the way so you can pull the tubing out. Sharkbite would never tell you this but I have used the Gatorbite removal tool - which is very very similar to remove many sharkbites and have turned to it a few times when the sharkbite tool didn't work.
